Beach House Barter

I started “Beach House Barter” to encourage creators and other folks interested in bartering work in exchange for a beautiful place to vacation.

How does it work?

For a short vacation/work exchange:

Each guest receives 3 nights/4 days of accommodations

(Monday-Thursday), in exchange for eight hours of work.

Arrive at 1pm on Monday and depart at 2pm on Thursday.

Exact work exchange schedule:

Monday : work 3pm-6:30pm

Tuesday : work 9am-1:30pm

Wednesday : no work

Thursday : no work

For a longer vacation/work exchange:

Just add Friday, Saturday, Sunday to your selected week.

Each guest receives 6 nights/7 days of accommodation (Monday -Sunday), in exchange for 16 hours of work

Arrive at 1pm on Monday and depart at 2pm on Sunday.

Exact work exchange schedule:

Monday : work 3pm-6:30pm

Tuesday : work 9am-1:30pm

Wednesday : no work

Thursday : work  3pm - 6:30pm

Friday : work  9am - 1:30pm

Saturday : no work

Sunday : no work

Please note:

All barter guests are asked to clean their accommodations prior to leaving. This helps us avoid extra cleaning costs so we can continue to offer free vacation exchanges.

Are you skilled?

Head to the front of the line!

Unskilled but willing? Excellent - I need you too!

I’m seeking help in all 3 categories:

Unskilled - But willing to work hard (general labor)

Semiskilled - You can perform basic homeowner repair and maintenance  (comfortable using basic hand and power tools)

Skilled - Pretty much any trade skills are welcome (especially plumbing, electric,  and carpentry)

Sample Projects

The following list is an example of some of this season’s projects.  I’ll have all needed tools and materials on-site. The exact project you’ll be working  on won’t be determined until just before we confirm the date of Barter. If there’s  something you’re especially skilled at or interested in let me know, otherwise I’ll  make a determination based on the Compound’s ever changing needs. All plans are  subject to change so flexibility is super important.
