Writing Escapes
Writing Escapes developed out of my own love of writing, a desire for connection with others of a like mind, and general frustration over the cost of attending retreats.
What is a Writing Escape?
At Delaney’s Compound a Writing Escape is a self-led experience. There are no teachers, no workshops, and no set itinerary. It’s not fancy. There’s no caterer, no housekeeping services, no concierge, and no silent acres of pristine wilderness. It’s not perfect and there are no guarantees.
What you get is what you take away from it.
This simple escape is designed to get you out of your house and away from responsibilities and distractions. It’s an affordable opportunity to get your butt in the chair and keep it there. Unless, of course, you’d like a distraction.
In that case we’ll call it inspiration!

How does it work?
For solo writers: An opportunity to spend solitary time focused on your project!
To book a Solo Writing Escape begin by looking through the accommodation options on the Delaney’s Compound page.
Next, use the contact form to reach out and receive upcoming openings via email. Feel free to add any specific questions you might have.
If you settle on a date, we’ll follow-up with a phone call before confirming your arrival and accommodations.

I do ask that each guest offer a pay-what-you-can gift to Delaney’s Compound commensurate with your time, accommodations and experience here.
Barter options are available. No one is turned away due to financial hardship.
For small groups: A chance to get off-line and gather your cohorts in the flesh!
At present Delaney’s Compound can accommodate up to 3 writers (eventually we hope to expand to a total of 6). This option includes combining the Guest House, Studio, and Vintage Trailer.
For a group of 3 each writer would have their own bathroom, kitchen, bedroom and writing space. (For a group of 4 each writer would have their own bathroom, bedroom and writing space, but two of the guests would share a kitchen).
